Lisa graduated with a degree in Social Care in 2009 and began working as a Family Support Worker with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and complex needs. Although Lisa was dedicated to this work, she felt she lacked the specialist skills to make real difference in these children’s lives. In June 2015 Lisa graduated from University College Cork with BSc (Hons) in Speech and Language Therapy (SLT).
Lisa is now a behaviourally orientated SLT, specialising in speech and feeding difficulties in children with complex needs. Lisa is passionate about working with children with ASD, Developmental Verbal Dyspraxia, Down Syndrome, and Cerebral Palsy. This passion drives Lisa’s dedication to continuing professional development, and she has trained in many specialist areas so she can best serve her clients.
Lisa has carried out extensive training in the field of Applied Behaviour Analysis with both Florida Institute of Technology and Queens University Belfast; completing her MSc in ABA in September 2018.
Lisa is currently the only Level 3 trained Talk Tools Therapist in Ireland (https://talktools.com/pages/what-is-opt) and is one of only five PROMPT trained therapists in Ireland (https://promptinstitute.com/page/Families_What_is_PROMPT).
